The Slovakian is a boutique charcuterie, specialising in high quality artisanal cured delicacies, using only free-range hogs and the best ingredients. The Slovakian comes from a long history of family charcuteries, dating back to D’Monchet of French Normandie, but now based in Cape Town.
Even though a recent identity had been created for The Slovakian, the business required a redo of the food packaging and branding to stand out. Kandi was approached to update the food packaging and branding, design the logo as well as establishing a look and feel for the overall visual identity. The brand needed to be reflective of the business values and to have the flex to meet the requirements of future product expansion.
Kandi rebranded The Slovakian, giving it a fresh, modern and bold look and feel. The logo was created featuring the classic meat cleaver, along with establishing a colour palette and font usage. Colour coded food product labels were designed to identify the different types of sausages, as well as branded swing tags. We also designed and developed a simple single-page website, along with product and lifestyle photography.
