Once a year the leading South African innovation conference, The SA Innovation Summit hosts its event in Johannesburg. Started in 2008, the SA Innovation Summit has steadily increased its foot traffic. Kandi was appointed to design the innovation summit brand design, keeping the annual theme in mind. Previous years included ‘Fortune favours the brave’ and ‘Leading innovation – Africa’s competitive edge’, both events and campaigns branded and designed by Kandi.
Under the theme ‘Viral Innovation – Catch it for Growth’, we designed the innovation summit brand design using a concept of folded origami birds. The branding extended through various touchpoints such as website, newsletters, posters, banners, flags, and the conference handbook.
This year the conference handbook was renamed ‘The Spark Book’, and featured foldout sections, die-cuts, and the usual speaker and notes pages. As per previous events, the objectives remained the same; create an innovative, engaging, interactive, and practical handbook for the summit. A handbook that the delegates and visitors would cherish, a book that would nurture new idea thinking, stimulate imagination, encourage exploration, experimentation, and leave opportunities open for discovery.
